Living stones are sensitive to waterlogging – the most common cause of root rot. Our substrate mix is precisely tailored to this: strongly mineral and well-draining, for fast drainage and healthy, strong roots. This keeps your Lithops and Split Rocks reliably in shape and helps them survive even the delicate dormancy period.
The mix is hand-blended in Germany from natural components – not an anonymous standard substrate, but a carefully balanced recipe for demanding mesembs.
Composition:
- Soil
- Pumice, fine and coarse
- Lava rock, fine and coarse
- Zeolite
- Sand
- Perlite
- Loess loam
Depending on availability, additional mineral components such as quartz stone or expanded shale may be added.
